Streaming of Fortnite is not permitted in the Recording Pod

The Recording Pod supports two screen capturing/casting applications out of the box. If you require the use of other applications, please let us know and we will endeavor to work out a solution with you. You are also most welcome to use your own device with the Pod equipment.

Screencast-O-Matic

Highly recommended by academics within the School, Screencast-O-Matic is a one click application for high quality and low fuss screen recordings. All Pod users are able to access the Basic plan application, while if you a higher paid license you are most welcome to use your license within the Pod.

Please note that due to the license restrictions, the DLH cannot provide Deluxe or Premiere licenses to users. This will have to be discussed with your home departments and disciplines. If you require higher level features and cannot obtain a license, you may be able to replicate some features within Open Broadcaster Software Studio (listed below).

Open Broadcaster Software Studio (OBS Studio)

Highly used by streamers and content makers alike, OBS Studio provides a more fine tuned and responsive approach to record screen captures. OBS Studio, however, does come with a heavier learning curve and some users may find the interface and settings difficult to grasp at first. However, once mastered OBS can let you control all aspects of your recording. OBS does not feature an editing tool, so the recordings should be edited in a editor such as DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere Pro.
