# Audacity vs Adobe Audition CC

**AUDACITY USERS: Please note that due to a bug present in the current version of Audacity, you must open the application via the 'Open Audacity (Catalina Fix)' shortcut in the Applications folder and 'allow Microphone Access'. Launching via the main Audacity application will result in no audio being recorded.**

The Mac Mini in the Recording Pod has both Adobe Audition CC and Audacity installed. Both pieces of software have their advantages and disadvantages, depending on your use cases. Audition can be a bit daunting at times but offers a seamless experience with other Adobe apps. If you are planning to use other Adobe apps in your workflow, Audition may be your best bet.

### I'm doing a solo audio recording

Audacity shines for solo-track recording, especially if you are not needing to sync video or screen recordings.

### I have multiple people in the room with me

Audition CC makes it easy to do multitrack recordings. The Rodecaster Pro is able to seperate the four microphone streams into seperate tracks, allowing for a better editing experience.

### I need to sync video/screen recordings

Audition CC allows you to import video clips and then sync audio to those clips. It also has one-click export to Premiere Pro for more advanced non-linear video editing. We advise users not to edit video in the recording pod due to time restraints, but you are most welcome to use one of the Pantheon rigs to do so. Simply save your Audition project to OneDrive or a USB drive and continue working.
